Both European Champions League and Europa quarter finals draw were out as Chelsea will meet Real Madrid, and United to meet Servilla.
The draw has also seen another English outfit, Manchester City, paired with Bayern Munich of Germany. The two fixtures, needless to say, spell doom for the two English clubs.
Going by their current form, Chelsea FC have nothing worthy of challenging Real Madrid. The latter is in excellent form while the former have had a terrible league season – something that has seen the Stamford Bridge outfit stuck in position 10 in EPL table.
Manchester City, on the other part, haven’t had a good outing in European stage, notwithstanding them having an experienced coach in Pep Guardiola. Actually, pundits have it that the game between Man City and Bayern Munich will be the final before the final. This is the second German team that will play against Man City, after the EPL champions knocked out RB Leipzig in the round of 16 stage.
Other quarter finals fixtures are AC Milan against their league compatriots Napoli, and Benfica against Inter Milan.
Today also saw UEFA Europa League quarter finals draw. Manchester United were again drawn against Spanish side Villarreal. This is the fourth Spanish side that Man United are meeting in this tournament, this season. Before knock out stage, United were paired with Real Sociedad. From there, they were drawn against heavyweights Barcelona. After knocking Barca out of the competition, United were given Real Betis in the round of 16. Now, they’ve been drawn against another Spanish outfit in Servilla after eliminating Real Betis.
This fixture has seen United fans pull a joke in social media that they are now playing both in EPL and also in La Liga. Their assertions were informed by the fact that they’ve constantly been given a Spanish side. Other quarter final duels are Feyenood Vs Roma, Juventus Vs Sporting and Leverkusen Vs Union Saint-Gilloise.
