The tragic death of 27-year-old Nicole Semba, discovered unresponsive in her Embakasi home, has prompted a thorough police investigation. This incident unfolds alongside another murder case in Kiambu County, which has ignited public protests and resulted in the arrest of three suspects.
Nicole Semba was found unconscious in her residence on Sunday night, shortly after returning from a night event. Initial findings suggest she may have been attacked, although detectives are diligently working to clarify the circumstances of her death and identify those involved.
Her husband reported the incident, explaining that he discovered her unresponsive upon returning home Sunday evening. Officers at the scene found Semba lying on her bed in a supine position, with visible bruises on her head noted during a preliminary examination.
According to her husband, Nicole had left the house Saturday evening while he slept and returned around 4 a.m. Sunday, appearing intoxicated. He stated he later left her resting and, upon his return in the evening, found her still in bed and unresponsive.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers meticulously processed the scene before moving the body to the Nairobi Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination. Investigators have yet to determine the cause of death and are focused on uncovering her whereabouts in the hours leading up to her return home with injuries.
In a separate case, detectives have initiated an investigation into the murder of 36-year-old Samuel Muiruri Waogo, whose body was found discarded at Kimunyu Shopping Centre in Gatundu South Sub-County, Kiambu County, around 11 p.m. on Sunday, opposite Kimunyu Playing Ground.
Investigations indicate that Samuel was likely killed elsewhere before his body was left at the shopping centre. Detectives observed deep cut wounds and strangulation marks on his neck, yet noted the absence of a blood trail at the scene, which suggests it was a secondary crime location.
The body has been transferred to the Gatundu Level 5 Hospital mortuary, pending a post-mortem examination. This brutal killing has sparked protests in the area, with approximately 30 youths barricading the Kimunyu-Gatundu road and lighting bonfires, demanding justice for the victim.
Police engaged with the demonstrators, leading to the removal of the roadblocks and the resumption of traffic. As investigations progress, detectives have successfully arrested three suspects in connection with this murder case.
