In what appears as a deliberate move by the former Vice President to assemble his political think tank ahead of next year’s presidential election, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has hired former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s key strategist Norman Magaya.
Magaya who is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya was the CEO of the now defunct NASA which has remained shell following disagreements of its principals over political parties funds, the 2022 flag bearer among other issues.
Magaya worked closely with the ODM leader during the high stakes 2017 elections and was a national returning officer for Nasa in the election at the Bomas of Kenya where he collapsed during the tabulation of presidential votes. Magaya was flown to India for specialized medical treatment after a heart attack and has been on and off hospital since then.
Magaya who is also a director a the Kenya Films Classification Board was unveiled on the day Wiper quit the opposition coalition for One Kenya Alliance.
Norman will be advising Kalonzo on coalition building and management ahead of the 2022 general election and will be in charge of the party leader’s political strategies.
