Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has endorsed Jubilee party’s David Musila to succeed her as the next governor for Kitui.
During a meeting held in Mwingi Kitui the governor announced that she was backing David Musila to succeed her as Kitui governor tweeted a photo of her handshake with Musila which she said will take Kitui county forward. “The handshake that will take Kitui forward. @HonMusila for Governor Kitui 2022.” tweeted the Governor.
The governor and Musila met at the home of Julius Mutukaa in Kivou, Mwingi in mourning their son Oliver Mwanyalo who passed on recently in a tragic road accident.
Ngilu dropped out of the Kitui gubernatorial race on June 15th 2022 during a tour by Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga in Kitui. During the rally, Odinga announced that Ngilu had opted out of the race and would instead direct her energy in his national presidential bid and promised to appoint her in his government.
“You will decide between former governor Julius Malombe and former senator David Musila who will be your governor. I want to take mama to Nairobi,” Raila stated.
