Eric Wamumbi, the Member of Parliament for Mathira Constituency, has formally requested the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate alleged suspicious activities at the Olive Gardens Hotel in Nairobi.
The luxurious hotel is associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who has emerged as a vocal critic of the government he previously served following his ouster last year.
In a letter addressed to DCI Director Mohamed Amin on Monday, Wamumbi expressed his concerns about meetings taking place at the hotel, suggesting they may be connected to the ongoing national discourse surrounding abductions. This request comes in light of a recent statement from the National Police Service (NPS) regarding several missing persons cases.
The NPS reported that three individuals—Billy Wanyiri Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Rony Kiplagat—have safely returned to their families. These individuals had been reported missing at various police stations, including Embu Police Station, Kabete Police Station, and Thogoto Police Post.
Additionally, Bernard Kavuli Musyimi, who was reported missing at Ngong Police Station, has presented himself at Moi’s Bridge Police Station and is now aiding investigators with further details.
As concerns about abductions rise, Wamumbi’s call for an investigation underscores the growing scrutiny of activities that may pose a threat to public safety. The developments at Olive Gardens Hotel will be closely monitored as authorities seek to address these serious allegations.
