Mary Atieno Gifted New Home After Rent Struggles

Veteran gospel singer Mary Atieno has received a major boost after a well-wisher gifted her a three-bedroom house in Buru Buru, days after she publicly spoke about the financial hardships she has faced in recent years.

The celebrated musician recently moved many people during a church service when she tearfully narrated the challenges she experienced in 2020. At the time, she revealed that she and her daughter struggled to raise a KSh 26,000 deposit needed to secure a rental house. The singer said the situation was painful, especially because some people had begun claiming she would retire into poverty despite her long and successful music career.

However, her story touched many hearts, prompting support from well-wishers who stepped in to assist her. Among them was a supporter identified as Larry, whom the singer described as a “destiny helper.” Larry reportedly mobilised support from other donors to ensure the veteran artiste would have a comfortable place to live as she prepares for retirement later this year.

The generous gesture resulted in the acquisition of a spacious three-bedroom house in Buru Buru, offering the singer a stable home after years of uncertainty. A tour of the house was later shared publicly by Larry together with gospel musician Kambua, showing the property’s spacious rooms and modern interior layout.

Despite the excitement surrounding the new home, the house is currently unfurnished. Supporters have therefore appealed to Kenyans to continue contributing household items so that the singer can comfortably settle into the residence.

The appeal has also attracted support from public figures, including Ezekiel Mutua, who encouraged well-wishers to assist the singer with basic household necessities.
