Man City Beat Chelsea 3-0 as Arsenal’s EPL Lead Shrinks

Manchester City revived their hopes of catching up with Arsenal in pursuit of EPL title after walloping Chelsea FC 0-3 at Stamford Bridge.

The 3-0 beating was a testament that EPL title race is still far from over, especially after Arsenal suffered a 1-2 loss in the hands of minors Bornmouth FC in a Saturday’s early kick-off.

Yesterday’s results mean that it’s only six points that sit between league leaders Arsenal, and second placed Man City. However, Man City have a game in hand, which means that should the Citizens win their one game in hand, the difference between them and Arsenal will only be three points.

What complicates mathematics for the Londoners even more is the fact that next weekend they’ll be travelling to Etihad to meet Pep Guadiola’s boys.

Arsenal have bottled the EPL trophy for a record three consecutive times after topping the table for more than ten months. The last time they failed to win the title after topping the table for almost a season was last season.

The Gunners last won EPL in 2004/2005 season, when they went unbeaten with the famous “invincibles”.

Although Arsenal has a chackered a recent history of bottling the title, they still stand higher chances of winning the league this season, owing to the few games that have remained to be played.

In another news, Manchester United will this evening host Leeds United in their 32nd game of the season. United sit in position 3 after Micheal Carrick took reins at Old Trafford following a torrid start under their erstwhile Portuguese tactician Ruben Amorim.

Carrick is believed to have changed fortunes at Carrington after guiding United to unprecedented home wins streak.
