Investment, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Lee Kinyanjui has revealed his net worth stands at Ksh. 471 million.
The former Nakuru Governor made this disclosure during his vetting session before the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments on Tuesday.
Kinyanjui outlined that his assets comprise shares in family businesses valued at approximately Ksh. 399 million and real estate holdings worth Ksh. 80 million. “Mr. Chairman (Speaker), my shares in family businesses are around Ksh. 399 million, and some apartments are worth Ksh. 80 million,” he stated.
However, he also acknowledged an outstanding loan of Ksh. 8 million, which he noted affects his overall net worth. “I have a loan of Ksh. 8 million, which gives me a modest net worth of Ksh. 471,000,972,” he explained.
Kinyanjui is among three allies of former President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated by President William Ruto for ministerial positions in December 2024, alongside William Kabogo for ICT and Mutahi Kagwe for Agriculture.
If approved by Parliament, Kinyanjui will take over the position from Salim Mvurya, who has been reassigned to the Sports Ministry following Kipchumba Murkomen’s appointment as Interior CS.
