Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has a request to Ruto on Raila

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has asked President Ruto not to let Raila get away with threats against his administration.

The lawyer pointed out the many previous instances where the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader has religiously held successive governments hostage by protests. The latest case, which probably is what compelled lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi to speak out, is this weekend’s political rally at Jacaranda grounds where the Azimio supremo, alongside other Azimio leaders, held a mega meeting and castigated President Ruto’s government as an ‘illegitimate government’.

The meeting, which was also attended by another last election’s presidential candidate, professor George Wajacoya of Roots Party, seemed to have been held to let Kenyans know that the Azimio coalition won the election by 8.1m votes against William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza side which the Azimio side believes garnered a paltry 5.9m votes.

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has now pointed to the government never to let Mr Raila Odinga to, this time round, distabelize the sitting government. “We are such a banana Republic that Hon Raila and his ilk can contra-legally challenge the state endlessly, break the law of the land and we can’t do anything,” Abdullahi said.

The lawyer went ahead saying that, “If the rule of law was alive in Kenya, Inspector General (IG) Japheth Koome will open a police inquiry file, investigate the shenanigans of Hon Raila and his associates and pass the police file to the office of the director of public prosecution Noordin Haji to make a decision,”

Lawyer Abdullahi Abdullahi was, however, quick to point out that this may prove to be a monumental task, given the influence and Raila’s stature which previous regimes failed to deal with.
