Kirinyaga Officer Commanding (OCS) wanguru police station in Kirinyaga County Harrison Muteti Katecho dies in a grisly road accident along Eastern by-pass road, near Kamakis.
The OCS lost control of his Toyota Belta vehicle before ramming into a lorry from behind. The lorry had been parked on the left side of the road, while Harrison’s saloon car was moving towards Thika road from Ruai.
“Both vehicles were moving from Ruai direction towards Thika road when the driver of the saloon car due to unknown reasons lost control and rammed onto the rear of the lorry.” Police statement reads.
The deceased Katecho had sustained head and chest injuries before he was pronounced dead on arrival at Ruai Sub-County hospital.
The body was taken to Kenyatta university mortuary while the lorry and the car wreckage were towed to Ruiru police station for inspection and further investigations.
