Kirinyaga governor Ann Waigiru has been arrested by DCI detectives at her Kitisiru home in Nairobi.
Yesterday the DCI hinted that they had finished investigation into her case and that warrant of arrest could be issued anytime.
Waigiru is accused of massive corruption and misuse of county resources.
Last year the Senate acquainted her all the charges after Kirinyaga county MCAs impeached her.
Waigiru however think her latest political move is closely linked to her problems. Waiguru recently led 25 Kirinyaga MCAs to UDA from Jubilee.
Kirinyaga woman mp Purity Ngirici who has shown interest in Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat however asked Waiguru to face corruption charges without politicizing .
Waiguru has been seen a possible running mate to DP William Ruto.
