Kalonzo questions Government’s animal vaccination drive

Former Vice President and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called on the government to clarify its ambitious plan to vaccinate domesticated animals nationwide. Speaking at a church event in Ruai, Nairobi County, Kalonzo voiced concerns that the initiative could be a means to exploit Kenyans financially through vaccination fees.

He urged pastoralist communities to be cautious and reject the vaccination program if it lacks adequate information and transparency. “This is the time to say No. We encourage our church to pray for the nation. We stand with the people of Kenya—women, youth, and all citizens,” he declared.

The initiative was announced by President Ruto, who aims to launch a vaccination drive targeting all animals reared by Kenyans at the grassroots level. However, the opposition has voiced strong objections to the proposal, raising questions about its intentions and potential impact on citizens.
