Nominated Legislator Gideon Keter will table a bill in Parliament that seeks to bar employers from demanding clearance certificates from various institutions like HELB,KRA, CRB, DCI and EACC as conditions for employment.
According to Hon. Keter these conditions tend to knock out a number of youths who qualify for the jobs.
Keter is known for passionately championing for the interest of youths after his bill on the universities amendment that required the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) to start accruing interest after HELB beneficiariea gain employment was rejected by the education committee headed by Busia women representative Florence Mwikali Mutua.
According to Keter it’s unfair to demand documents that require a lot of money to obtain from jobless people.
Keter who is also a member of the Kenya Young Parliamentarian Association (KYPA) expressed confidence that his fellow Parliamentarians will see logic in the Bill and support it.
