Gachagua arraigned in court & released on KShs 12 million Bond

Rigathi Gachagua

After spending the weekend in police cell, Mathira Legislator Rigathi Gachagua this morning pleaded not guilty to charges of graft and money laundering and was released on a 12 million shillings bond.

The handcuffed MP was escorted to the anti corruption court in Milimani by a contingent of police officers at 10 am.

He was flanked in court by lawyers Kioko Kilukumi and Senator Irungu Kangata and several politicians from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Gachagua was arrested last week at his home in Nyeri and transferred to a Nairobi police station where he spent the whole weekend before his arraignment in court. See also Controversial Mathira Legislator Rigathi Gachagua arrested at dawn.
