Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi was on 7th March afternoon released from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices after staying there for nine hours.
The former CS who had presented himself in the morning following a summons was accompanied by a team of lawyers including Senior Counsel Okongo Omogeni, Senior Counsel Otiende Amollo, Danston Omari, Eugene Wamalwa amongst others.
Speaking to the media outside the DCI office after his release, Matiangi’s lawyers accused the government of witch-hunt against Matiangi and demeaning his role as the former security minister.
