Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has disclosed that he has penned a special letter to his community, outlining strategic guidance for navigating the political landscape in the event of his untimely death. Speaking on Kameme FM on Monday, Gachagua revealed that he has entrusted this letter to his lawyers, providing directives on leadership and political strategy should anything happen to him.
“I cannot sit here and assume I will live forever. This government has already sent thugs to kill me in Limuru,” he claimed. “If I had died then, who would have guided my community?”
Gachagua emphasized his commitment to mentoring the next generation of leaders across the country to ensure continuity in leadership. He reiterated concerns for his safety, referencing a past incident in which he alleged that government operatives disrupted a funeral he attended in Limuru.
“As a practical man, I have taken precautions. The letter I have written to my community contains specific instructions and will be made public should these individuals succeed in their attempts against me,”Rigathi Gachagua stated. The letter reportedly outlines important aspects, including how the community should navigate political challenges.
“I see what is happening, and it is crucial to be prepared. I may not be here tomorrow, and if they succeed in eliminating me, my community must know the path forward,” he added.
Gachagua underscored that his ultimate legacy will be to establish a long-term political roadmap to ensure stability for his community. “If my people support me, I will plan a succession strategy and create a strong political party to safeguard our interests for the next 50 years,” he declared. “I don’t have to lead, but if I can provide my people with a solid political foundation and competent leaders, I will have fulfilled my mission.”
