Ex-IEBC Commissioners given ambassadorial Jobs

Former IEBC Commissioner Margaret Mwachaya and Nkatha Maina

His excellency the President Uhuru Kenyatta in a statement issued by the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua , on the 15th of in 2020, appointed Former IEBC Commissioners Consolata Nkatha and Margaret Mwachanya as Deputy Foreign Mission Heads.

The deputy foreign mission heads resigned from IEBC in April 2018 saying they had no confidence in their then chairman Wafula Chebukati. Consolata Nkatha has been nominated to be deputy mission head of Rome while her counterpart Margret Mwachanya for Islamabad.

BBI Joint Secretary Martin Kimani was appointed as the new permanent representative to the United Nations while Dr.Paul Kibiwott was selected as Moscows’ deputy head of missions.

The President also nominated and appointed other individuals in the nations foreign service as Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives and High Commissioners in Kenya’s Embassies and abroad missions.

Nominated for Ambassador positions were Daniel Wambura (Bujumbura),Jean Kamau (Addis Ababa), Tom Amolo (Berlin),Lemarron Kaanto (Brasilia) and Linday Kiptiness (Bangkok).

Those nominated for deputy heads of missions were Thomas Chepkatao (Mogadishu) ,Kiarie Kamere ( London), Irene Achieng Oloo (New Delhi),Judy Sijine (The Hague),Mr Hudson Ivutsia (Abuja) and Isaac Parashina (Tel Aviv).

High Commissioner positions were given to Amb. John Tipis (Canberra), Immaculate Wambua (Ottawa) and Ambassodor Catherine Mwangi( Pretoria).
