Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi has lauded the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for nurturing a culture of loyalty, unity, and discipline anchored in the leadership of Raila Odinga.
Speaking during a televised political discussion on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Elachi said ODM’s strength has always been its collective trust in Raila’s guidance and a shared belief in the party’s vision.
“ODM is built on unity of purpose. When Raila gives direction, we move as one—no hesitation, no division,” Elachi stated, describing the order and commitment that define the party’s operations.
Her remarks come amid renewed public debate over political loyalty, discipline, and the place of ideology in Kenya’s evolving political landscape.
Elachi stressed that ODM’s loyalty is not blind submission but grounded conviction. She noted that party members follow Raila because they believe in his mission and values.
“Our loyalty isn’t about worship—it’s about trust and understanding. And one thing is clear, Raila would never tell us to go to Wamunyoro,” she said, drawing laughter as she underscored the party’s clear principles.
The legislator reaffirmed that ODM remains a movement driven by progressive ideals—championing social justice, inclusivity, and good governance. She warned that Kenya’s politics risks losing direction when parties abandon ideology for convenience and personality worship.
“We have moved away from ideology, and that’s why our politics sometimes feels lost,” she observed.
As Kenya prepares for another election cycle, Elachi’s words serve as both a defence of ODM’s enduring discipline and a reminder of Raila Odinga’s steady hand in shaping the country’s political conversation.
