Detectives probing ex-Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo’s death stopped at a busy bar and eatery on Magadi Road in Nairobi.
They tracked him there. He showed up hours before his crash miles away.
On Saturday, they questioned workers. The goal was to find who he met before dying.
Reports say Jirongo left a Karen eatery. He drove toward Langata Road. Then he hit Magadi Road. He stopped at the spot briefly. He left. Three hours passed. Then came the wreck.
Cops asked who joined him. How long did they stay? What did he eat or drink? What did he say?
The team now takes statements from folks he saw that night. Key ones were at Karen Oasis Bar and Restaurant in Nairobi.
Over ten people faced questions so far. No one arrested yet.
The eatery bosses stayed quiet.
Jirongo died in a road crash on December 13. It still stirs talk. Some kin push for a full check.
A postmortem showed blunt force trauma killed him. It hit his chest and belly hard.
He also had spine and leg wounds.
Family doc Joseph Ndung’u and top government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor watched at Lee Funeral Home.
Dr. Ndung’u noted many blunt hits. Right hand had two breaks. Legs broke too.
Chest took a crush. Ribs snapped. Heart pierced. Big blood vessels tore. Blood filled the chest.
Belly and liver crushed. Blood pooled inside.
Spinal cord tore from the hit, he said.
We ruled he died from chest crush, belly crush, and spine damage due to blunt force, he added.
This guides cops in their check.
