United Democratic Alliance (USA) candidate David Ndakwa is expected to achieve a comprehensive win in the Malava by-election, according to Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, who has a lot of faith that this will happen when the election takes place on November 27, 2025.
Cherargei stated in a Sunday, November 23, 2025, statement posted on X that Ndakwa was on track for a decisive outcome.
Cherargei has publicly supported Ndakwa.
“The UDA candidate for Malava constituency in Kakamega County is currently winning the 27th November 2025 by-elections by an overwhelming 80% margin, according to his statement.”
The final days of campaigning have demonstrated evident signs of considerable backing.
As the race neared its final stages, UDA leaders and their supporters were completely in agreement that Ndakwa was the best choice.
Cherargei also mentioned that, in finalising the home stretch campaigns for UDA candidate Ndakwa in the Malava constituency, he had collaborated with Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya of MSMEs, Hon. Shinali Benard MP, Ikolomani constituency and chairperson of Kakamega County Members of Parliament caucus, Ex-CS Rashid Echesa, amongst others.
The contest has evolved into a two-horse race between Ndakwa of UDA and Seth Panyako, the candidate for the Democratic Action Party of Kenya.
Both sides have stepped up their campaigns, luring prominent national leaders to Malava in a bid to sway the closely contested political arena.
Matiangi stands on Panyako
Cherargei is confident that Ndakwa will secure an 80% landslide, but the DAP-K camp is expressing its own optimism.
Fred Matiang’i, the former Interior Cabinet Secretary, expressed his full support for Panyako during a speech in Malava on Friday, November 21, 2025.
Matiang’i commended Panyako’s track record as a champion of workers’ rights during his time as Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Nurses.
He claimed to have sent in experts to research the election before joining the campaign.
Experts were sent here in Malava last week to conduct an investigation and research. I requested they inform me beforehand, as I wouldn’t travel such a long distance for someone as unproductive as Ndakwa.
I inquired about who was likely to win the Malava seat. He also stated that Seth Panyako is the person expected to win the votes.
Matiang’i maintained that Panyako was the ideal candidate to promote workers’ welfare if elected.
Panyako demonstrated his commitment to public service by actively addressing labor concerns with government officials during his tenure.
A former CS joined an opposition lineup backing Panyako, which also included Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, George Natembeya, and Senator Boni Khalwale.
