Woods, the son of golf legend Tiger Woods, has proudly signed his first NIL (name, image, and likeness) deal. At just 17 years old, this high school senior has committed to play golf for Florida State University next year and will represent the renowned equipment manufacturer TaylorMade.
Having predominantly used TaylorMade’s products during junior competitions, including the driver, fairway woods, irons, wedges, and balls, Charlie is well-acquainted with the brand. TaylorMade, which was acquired by Centroid for $1.7 billion in 2021, is also the choice of his father, Tiger Woods.
The announcement of this exciting partnership came last Friday, just ahead of the Labor Day weekend, as Charlie competed in the Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass—a course his father knows intimately.
In addition to golf equipment, TaylorMade serves as the parent company of Sun Day Red, the apparel brand launched by 15-time major champion Tiger Woods in 2024. Charlie has frequently worn this brand as a teenager.
In a statement released on September 4, TaylorMade Golf expressed their enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to welcome AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) champion Charlie Woods to our growing roster of exceptional junior and collegiate NIL athletes. As the 2025 AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational winner, Charlie is a rising senior at the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, and a committed golfer for Florida State in 2027. His impressive resume, built through the AJGA circuit and top amateur events, includes a remarkable three-shot victory at Streamsong’s Black Course in 2025, where he competed against four of the top five AJGA players.”
Charlie now joins an elite roster of amateur golfers with TaylorMade, including his future college teammate and WAGR No. 5 Miles Russell, U.S. Women’s Amateur winner Asterisk Talley, and NCAA Team Champion Logan Reilly, among others.
This weekend proved to be monumental for Charlie Woods, marking the signing of his first NIL deal as he celebrated a top-10 finish at the Junior Players Championship, which faced a weather delay. He concluded the tournament with a 1-under 71 in his final round, finishing with a total score of 1-under par, tying for eighth place on the leaderboard. This achievement represents his best finish at the Junior Players Championship, a prestigious event on the AJGA calendar.
JP Lynch from Austin, Texas, claimed the championship title at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, firing an impressive 6-under-par 66 in his final round to finish the week at 8-under-par. Reflecting on his victory, Lynch shared, “I can’t even put it into words. It’s hard to believe, and it hasn’t fully sunk in yet. I had to wait three hours to hit just one putt, which is amusing in hindsight, but it feels amazing. I was really nervous and couldn’t even eat lunch, but spending time in the player locker room with friends and watching football helped ease my nerves. I’ve been in a flow state all week, and today was no different.”
