Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino braved the rain to issue bursary cheques to thousands of his constituents in the Utawala ward.
Consistent with his plan of supporting education, the MP issued cheques worth 68 million shillings to 13,500 beneficiaries.
The function was attended by 20 MCA aspirants who were each given an opportunity to speak. The aspiring MCAs, all reiterated their unconditional support for Babu Owino as the undisputed MP of Embakasi East constituency come elections of August 2022.
The current MCA Mr. Karani also promised to issue bursaries through his office in the next two weeks. Mr. David Oduor, a former teacher and the chairperson of sports and culture in the office of the Embakasi MP criticised Karani’s track record amid a cheering and fired up crowd.
“We don’t have a public hospital in Utawala where women can access maternity services hence our women cannot even build families in peace; devoid of worry” said Oduor.
In his speech Babu Owino exuded leadership and continued with the event when rain started to pour.
