Bolt has confidently dismissed rumors on social media about leaving the Kenyan market, calling a widely shared document fake and assuring everyone that operations are running smoothly.
In a statement released on June 1, 2026, Bolt clarified that the false document claiming an exit on June 8, 2026, did not come from any official Bolt Kenya source. The company is fully operational and committed to serving both drivers and customers throughout Kenya.
“It’s come to our attention that a fraudulent document is circulating. This is not from Bolt Kenya,” Bolt stated on Instagram.
The company is investigating the source of this misinformation and urges everyone to stay informed.
Bolt emphasized that it remains dedicated to providing reliable transport services and supporting its driver-partners.
“We’re looking into who created this misleading document and will take action against misinformation,” said Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager for East Africa.
Bolt reassured the community that it continues to operate normally, focusing on delivering safe and innovative services while creating economic opportunities.
The company encourages everyone—drivers, customers, and the public—to ignore the fake document and avoid spreading unverified claims.
“Please rely only on accurate information from Bolt Kenya through our official channels—our website, verified social media, and the Bolt app,” the statement continued.
Bolt remains committed to enhancing service delivery and strengthening its presence in Kenya.
