The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) today revealed over 22 million voters for the upcoming elections.
The polls body managed to register 22,120,458 voters which is a 12.79 increase from the year 2017 which registered 19,611,423 voters.
The IEBC also reversed illegal transfer of voters which affected 12 counties namely Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, Nyeri, Nairobi, Kakamega, Laikipia, Nakuru, Muranga, Nandi, Uasin Ngishu, and Kiambu.
According to the IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati there will be 46,232 polling stations this year which is an increase of 13.08 per cent from 2017 which had 40,883 polling stations. were registered.
The polls body has also registered 10,444 diaspora voters, 7,000 prisoners and expunged 246,465 dead voters from the register.
