Anti-tax demonstrators take over major towns

Anti-tax demonstrators in Voi town, Taita Taveta county, on Tuesday took to the streets to demonstrate against the Finance Bill.

Hundreds of anti-tax demonstrators blocked the busy Mombasa Nairobi highway at Caltex junction in Voi, Taita Taveta County. Kenyans in other parts of the country also took part in the protests.

The protests are taking part in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nyeri, Kisii, Taita Taveta and Turkana.

The protests are slowly getting out of hand as major towns have attracted large number of young people, especially the generation Zs, mostly being referred to as Gen Zs. For example, in Eldoret town, protesters overwhelmed the police officers, prompting the law enforcers to scamper for their dear lives.

The youth further got another strength when the Azimio leaders added their voice to the ongoing demos, declaring their support for the Gen Zs.
