A woman was on Friday found dead inside her house in Kanyanjwa sub-location, Rangwe constituency, in Homabay County.
Sarah Achieng was found dead in what is believed to be a murder case when her lifeless body was found to have been lying in her house since Friday.
Two suspects have since been apprehended follow the suspected murder case. The two had fled the area even though they were working for the 45-year-old Achieng. They had been working as a posho mill attendant, and a shopkeeper.
Kanyanjwa sub-location assistant-chief Kennedy Onyango wants to know why the two workers fled instead of reporting the incident to the relevant authorities.
People became suspicious after seeing some blood stains near the door.
Onyango said some neighbours reported they heard a commotion from the house of the woman before the woman’s death was known.
“The people who went to the house to buy items came and alerted others over the death. More residents went to the house and found the body lying in a pool of blood,” he said.
Achieng’s door was locked before the neighbours arrived and opened it.
Rangwe Police Commander Magdalene Chebet said the woman died as a result of strangulation and assault.
