Raphael Tuju recently shared his heartfelt experiences regarding the emotional toll of his ongoing Sh2.2 billion legal battle on his family. He expressed concern for his children, who have faced harassment and humiliation due to the situation.
During a Sunday Service at St. Michael and All Angels ACK Cathedral in Bondo Town, Siaya County, Tuju urged fellow Christians to pray for his children, highlighting the challenges they have endured alongside him.
While Tuju has personally navigated these difficulties with strength derived from his faith, he emphasized the need for support for his children. “My children are currently experiencing significant tribulations. I can manage my own challenges, but they need our prayers,” he shared.
He conveyed his wish that his struggles would not affect his children, yet acknowledged that, unfortunately, they have been drawn into the chaos. “What I’m facing shouldn’t impact them, but sadly, it has,” he stated.
This public sharing marked the first time Tuju has spoken about these challenges openly. “I’ve kept this private until now. This is my first public acknowledgment, yet my children have faced harassment and humiliation in various forms,” he said.
Though he refrained from detailing the specific incidents or naming those responsible, Tuju affirmed that his family remains resilient, relying on their faith to overcome these trials. “We stay strong as a family, thanks to the grace of God,” he noted.
Tuju’s remarks arise amid a prolonged legal dispute concerning a Sh2.2 billion loan facility associated with his company, Dari Limited. The conflict stems from a financing agreement related to a Karen development project featuring high-end residential units.
Tuju asserts that the bank failed to honor the agreement, including withholding approximately Sh294 million that was intended as part of the financing. This dispute has led to numerous court cases both in Kenya and internationally.
In March 2026, the High Court dismissed Tuju’s application to halt the auction of properties linked to Dari Limited, including the Entim Sidai Wellness Sanctuary. The court ruled that the application sought to revisit matters already settled.
Tuju and Dari Limited have been granted permission to appeal this ruling. Earlier, in 2023, the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by Tuju regarding the same dispute, with ongoing proceedings centering on the loan, its collateral, and the recovery of the debt.
