President William Ruto has officially initiated the construction of the 59km Enengetia-Olposimoru road in Narok County. This significant project aims to upgrade the road to bitumen standards, enhancing connectivity between Eneng’etia, Olokurto, Enkuseru, Olposimoru, and Kiptenden.
Ruto emphasized that this road upgrade will facilitate the efficient movement of agricultural produce to markets, thereby boosting trade along the corridor. The region is known for its diverse agricultural output, including vegetables, maize, wheat, and dairy products.
In addition to road improvements, Ruto announced a substantial investment of Sh2.8 billion to enhance electricity access for more residents in Narok. He highlighted that the construction of the 40km Suswa-Inkorionito-Naiekia-Enkare road in Narok East is currently in progress.
Furthermore, Ruto shared exciting news about Narok Airport, which is set to be operational in the coming months. Ongoing projects also include the construction of the Ololung’a-Ewaso Ng’iro road, while the Ololung’a-Sogoo-Saptet-Mulot road is nearing 60 percent completion.
The President reiterated that these infrastructure projects are crucial for unlocking Narok’s vast economic potential. “We are transforming Narok County through strategic infrastructure initiatives that will elevate its economic landscape,” Ruto stated. He also noted that the tarmacking of the Ngoswani-Naikarra-Morijo road is progressing well, with 30km already completed.
