Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sent a delegation to the United Kingdom in preparation for his upcoming visit to connect with Kenyans in the diaspora, part of his political mobilization for the 2027 General Election.
On May 7, 2026, Gachagua announced via his X account that the team, which includes Nyandarua Senator John Methu, former Kieni MP Kanini Kega, and popular musician Samidoh, has already departed for London to coordinate his tour.
“I have dispatched Senator John Methu, Hon. Kanini Kega, and benga star Samuel Muchoki, known as Samidoh, to London to prepare for my visit with our diaspora community,” Gachagua stated.
The visit aims to engage the Kenyan diaspora in the UK and gather their insights on national issues and governance. Gachagua emphasized that his party, the DCP Party, views Kenyans abroad as vital stakeholders in shaping the nation’s future. He asserted that their input will inform the party’s policy framework ahead of the August 10, 2027 General Election.
“Our party, DCP, is committed to engaging the diaspora community as key stakeholders; their perspectives will shape our strategy for the upcoming elections,” Gachagua remarked.
This visit follows Gachagua’s previous engagement in the United States from July to August 2025. He shared on August 6, 2025, photos of his arrival at Kansas City International Airport, where he received a warm welcome from Kenyans.
“During our tour of the USA, we arrived in Kansas City to a heartfelt reception from Kenyans. We look forward to meaningful discussions about our nation, Kenya,” Gachagua expressed.
His extensive tour of the USA began on July 9, 2025, marking his first international trip since his impeachment on October 17, 2024.
