Johana Ngeno Honored at AGC Karen Requiem

A profound silence enveloped the Africa Gospel Church (AGC) Karen in Nairobi on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, as family, friends, leaders, and mourners gathered for the requiem mass of the late Emurua Dikirr MP, Johana Ngeno Ngong.

Barnabas Ngeno, Johana’s brother, addressed the congregation with heartfelt emotion and unwavering resolve. He spoke not only as a grieving sibling but as a family representative committed to upholding Johana’s values and causes. He reminded attendees that, despite their deep sorrow, they had much to be thankful for regarding the time spent with Johana and the impact he made.

Barnabas acknowledged the collective grief while urging everyone to focus on gratitude and the celebration of Johana’s life and community service.

“It is a sad moment, but we are grateful to be here to celebrate our brother Johana Ngeno and to honor his legacy,” he stated.

He expressed hope that Johana’s work and vision would continue to inspire a new chapter for the community.

“His death marks the beginning of a new journey. With the solid legacy he left us, we will carry on his cherished mission,” he noted.

Barnabas outlined the core pillars of Johana’s mission, emphasizing unity, justice, and opportunities for young talents as essential elements of his legacy.

“A united community, a progressive nation, nurturing artistic talent, land rights, and justice—these are what he has gifted us. We are thankful,” he asserted.

He also expressed gratitude to the leaders, friends, and supporters who stood by Johana during his political journey and in the challenging days following his passing.

“We appreciate the president and friends from across the political spectrum, as well as members from near and far, who supported his dreams. We are grateful,” Barnabas emphasized.

On behalf of the grieving family, Barnabas conveyed heartfelt thanks to all who showed solidarity during this time.

“On behalf of the family, we thank you for your support,” he stated.

He concluded by recognizing the Narok County government’s assistance and offering a message of strength to Johana’s widow.

“I thank the Narok County government for their tremendous support. May God be with you, Johana’s wife,” he said.
