UK Tourism Agents Explore Tanzania to Boost European Market Appeal

Tourism agents from the UK are currently visiting Tanzania’s famous national parks, wildlife areas, and picturesque landscapes in order to advertise the country’s distinctive tourist sites, examine investment options, and increase its profile in European tourism.

Tanzania’s Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, informed tourists that the country remains a peaceful and welcoming place for all visitors from around the globe. Following a meeting with international tourists at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area’s Loduare Gate entrance, the Minister made the comments during an inspection of tourism operations in the region.

Accompanied by her were the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr Hamad Chande, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Hassan Abbasi, and the Conservation Commissioner for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Mr Abdul-Razaq Badru.

Debbie Mayger, leader of the UK tourism delegation, arrived with her team at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area the day before, stating that their visit to Tanzania was intended to experience its numerous tourist attractions, cultural legacy, wildlife, landscapes, conservation initiatives, and coastal locations, as well as its customs and traditions.

Tanzania has been mentioned so extensively to us. Mayger noted a significant interest in wildlife tourism, the Ngorongoro Crater, world heritage sites, the Ngorongoro Lengai Geopark, local cultures, environmental conservation, hospitality and the peaceful environment.

She added: “This visit will give us direct experience, which will help us to promote Tanzania more effectively and we hope to draw even more visitors from the European market.”

Upon receiving the delegation, Michael Makombe, the NCAA Senior Marketing Officer, stated that the visit signifies the government’s continued endeavors via the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, conservation organizations, and tourism industry participants to highlight Tanzania’s diverse tourism attractions.

He mentioned that the agents’ intention in visiting Ngorongoro is to experience its attractions directly, promote them and persuade their local markets to keep sending tourists to appreciate Tanzania’s wildlife, cultural, environmental, culinary, and historical tourism.

Representatives from Shades of Green tourism company have already visited Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and are set to tour Serengeti National Park and other notable locations.
