Ugenya MP David Ochieng has called on Kenyans not to heeds calls for demonstrations by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking at Uriri during a political meeting attended President William Ruto, Ochieng said that it does not make sense for people to go to the streets to demonstrate about the cost of food yet the ongoing rains have provided them with the opportunity to produce sufficient food to help bring the cost of food down.
The MDG leader assured President Ruto that he was firmly behind him and that he started the journey to liberate his people when his party defeated Raila Odinga’s ODM not once but twice and said there is no turning back.
Earlier on in his constituency during an exercise to issue bursary cheques to students from Ugenya, Ochieng urged Ugenya residents to concentrate on farming and livestock keeping during this rainy season to bring forth food.
He said he’s determined to build his party and will not be intimidated to withdraw his support for the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Ochieng used the occasion to slam Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga its time for the Nyanza people to adopt new leadership, adding that the former premier’s time is long gone.
“Nitaongea na kama mbaya, mbaya….kama sawa, sawa. “Everyone lives their life once…it is our age and our time, not his time. His time is long passed,” He said and reiterated that he will not play second fiddle to the opposition leader in Nyanza.
