Stop the Primitivity: Raila tells off Government over abductions

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has urgently called for an end to the wave of mysterious abductions plaguing Kenya this year.

Speaking on Wednesday, Odinga emphasized that the government must swiftly address the alarming trend, which he warns poses a significant threat to national security.

“This year has been challenging for the people of Kenya. We have witnessed demonstrations and the tragic loss of innocent lives,” Odinga stated. He expressed his concern over the ongoing abductions, urging that they must stop to restore peace and safety in the nation.

The former Prime Minister’s remarks come amid increasing reports of abductions, with three individuals reported missing in just the past week. Notably, 24-year-old Benard Kavuli was kidnapped at a petrol station in Ngong by four armed men. His abduction is believed to be linked to his social media posts that criticized the government and referenced the 2007 post-election violence.

Kavuli’s disappearance followed the abductions of Peter Muteti and Billy Mwangi, who were taken in similar circumstances over the weekend. CCTV footage captured Muteti being abducted while shopping in Uthiru.

In support of the affected families, the head of the Anglican Church Jackson Ole Sapit urged for a thorough investigation into the abductions. “Let this Christmas be a moment of celebration. We stand with families in mourning and pray for the return of their loved ones,” he said. He called on those responsible to act with humanity and respect for the nation’s future.

Odinga’s call to action highlights the urgent need for government accountability and the protection of citizens as fears of abductions continue to rise.
