Convicted Sirisia MP John Waluke transferred to Kodiaga Maximum Prison

Sirisia Mp John Waluke has been transferred to Kodiaga Maximum Prison in Kisumu from the Nairobi’s Industrial Area following an increase in Covid 19 cases in the Nairobi Prison.

The legislator was found guilty of defrauding the National Cereals Boards (NCPB) and jailed for 67 years after failing to raise a fine of over Shs. 700 million.

The court had earlier explained that Waluke would serve a 67- year jail term, while Grace Wakhungu, who was also found guilty of the same fraud would be locked away for 69 years.

Magistrate Elizabeth Juma, who was the presiding judge said that the duo would serve the long term jail after they failed to pay the fines amounting to over 2 billion.  Waluke and Grace are the directors of the “Erad Supplies and general contractors” company, which was found guilty of the fraud.
