President William Ruto has unveiled a Ksh. 4 billion initiative aimed at constructing and rehabilitating roads in Nairobi County.
This investment is intended to enhance mobility within the capital city by improving both new and existing feeder roads.
During his announcement, President Ruto emphasized the importance of completing stalled road projects initiated by the now-defunct Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS). He assured residents that these projects would be prioritized to alleviate traffic congestion and improve access across the city.
In addition to the road development plans, President Ruto also spoke about the significance of Kenya’s representation on the international stage, particularly regarding the position of Union Commission Chairperson. He urged the public to support the nominee, stating, “Pray for him as you pray for the nation because that position is not his; it is for the whole continent and us as a country.”
The announcement was made during a public service attended by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Members of Parliament, Members of the County Assembly, and other dignitaries. The collaborative effort aims not only to improve infrastructure but also to enhance Kenya’s profile and influence in regional and international matters.
As the government moves forward with these plans, residents of Nairobi are hopeful for improved road conditions that will facilitate better transportation and connectivity throughout the city.
