
Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o on 1st August 2022 presided over the official opening of KEDA Ceramics International Miwani Factory. KEDA (Kenya) Ceramics International Co. Ltd is a Joint Venture incorporated in 2016 by KEDA CLEAN ENERGY and SUNDA INTERNATIONAL.
The factory is situated in Miwani ward on a 150 acres piece of land. Upon completion the plant is expected to have 3 ceramics tiles, 2 sanitary ware production lines and Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG ) industrial park with an initial investment of around 50 million USD and expected to reach upto 160 million USD. So far the plant has created over 800 direct employment opportunities with more expected to be employed and at least 3000 indirect jobs.
The plant’s tiles brand name ” Twyford ” is now available in our local stores with the excess being exported to the neighboring EAC countries.
Tiles expected daily output – Phase 1 production 40,000 m^3, Phase 2 production 25,000m^3 and Phase 3 production of 20,000m^3. All will produce more than 30 million m^3/year. Present was Deputy Governor Dr. Ochieng Owili and Muhoroni Mp James Onyango Koyoo.
