Jubilee Party’s nominated Senator Victor Prengei died on Monday night, August 16 after a fatal road accident.
Prengei, who comes from the Ogiek community was nominated to represent the youth and minorities in the Senate was rushed to a hospital in Nakuru for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after.
According to a police report seen by Nyanza Daily, Mr. Prengei was driving from Nakuru towards Ravine at around 9.15 pm when his vehicle lost control, veered off the road and hit a wall.
He sustained injuries due to the impact and was rushed to the Moi memorial hospital where he succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Prengei, who was the first parliamentarian from the Ogiek community, now becomes the 6th Senator to die in the 12th Parliament.
