Martha Karua Announces Presidential Bid for 2027

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has declared her intention to run for President in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

Speaking at a burial ceremony in Kiandieri, Kirinyaga County, on Friday, Karua emphasized that she will no longer accept a role as a running mate, asserting her ambition for the highest office in the land.

“My good former Senator Daniel Karaba, I am now beyond any running mate position. I will be pursuing the top seat in the next election,” Karua stated, signaling her determination to lead the opposition against the current Kenya Kwanza government.

Karua’s announcement is viewed as a significant development amid growing dissatisfaction with President William Ruto’s administration. She expressed her commitment to rallying like-minded Kenyans to challenge the government’s perceived failures.

In her address, Karua also raised concerns about a recent surge in abductions, which she attributed to individuals believed to be police officers—those tasked with safeguarding citizens. “It is ironic that those who are supposed to protect us are the ones instigating these crimes,” she remarked.

She urged the government to put an end to the alarming trend of kidnappings and extrajudicial killings, particularly those targeting innocent youth. “These abductions and killings of our youth is a worrying trend that must stop immediately,” Karua asserted.

Her bold declaration and continued criticism of the government underscore her commitment to addressing pressing issues facing Kenyans as she sets her sights on the presidency.
