Lugulu Girls School celebrates KCSE Results after Delay

Teachers and students at Lugulu Girls School in Bungoma are overjoyed following the release of the 2024 KCSE results, which had previously been withheld by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

The school achieved an impressive mean grade of 9.3417, with 99 percent of its students—672 out of 676—qualifying for university admission.

Among the standout performers, 13 candidates earned a mean grade of A, 93 secured A-, and 191 achieved B+. Additionally, 232 students received grades of B, 118 scored B-, and 25 attained C+. Unfortunately, four candidates did not meet the minimum cut-off points, with the lowest grade recorded being a D+.

Principal Dinah Cheruiyot expressed her gratitude to both the teaching staff and the students for their exceptional performance. “This morning, we thank God for our results and for the hard work that has paid off. The uncertainty surrounding our results caused us many sleepless nights. As a school known for excellence, we will maintain this momentum,” she stated.

During the announcement of the 2024 KCSE results, Education CS Migos Ogamba revealed that KNEC had canceled the results of 840 candidates due to exam malpractices. He also noted that the results of an additional 2,829 candidates were withheld pending further investigations. “It is unfortunate that a few contracted professionals and teachers are still intent on sabotaging the future of our learners through examination malpractices,” Ogamba remarked.
