Police in Kisumu have detained a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man following a disagreement over Ksh 50.
The victim, an unidentified student from the Kisumu Rotary Vocational Training Centre near the Fanana area, suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest during the altercation.
Eyewitnesses reported that the conflict erupted at a betting shop and quickly escalated. Tensions heightened Thursday evening when a group of youths gathered in the area, seeking revenge for the student’s death.
Authorities responded promptly, apprehending the suspect, identified as Faiba, near the Kisumu bus park. They also managed to disperse the crowd to prevent further unrest.
The suspect will face charges in court once investigations are completed. The police continue to monitor the situation to ensure community safety.
