Kisumu County Executive Committee member Nerry Achar has stepped aside.
The CEC yesterday wrote to the Kisumu Governor, Anyang’ Nyong’o indicating that he had opted to stay out of the office, to wait for a judicial process following his impeachment.
The move to step aside came barely hours before the Assembly Speaker Elisha Oriaro was to make a decision on a committee that recommended Achar’s removal from the office.
Just seven days ago, the Kisumu County Assembly’s ad hoc committee had recommended the removal of the CEC following pending issues over his appointment.
