Kindiki Intensifies UDA Campaign in Mbeere North

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stepped up the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) campaign in Mbeere North as the constituency heads toward a high-stakes by-election. His entry into the region marks a renewed push by the ruling party to secure the parliamentary seat left vacant after Geoffrey Ruku joined the Cabinet as the CS for Public Service and Human Capital Development.

Kindiki arrived in Siakago on Monday night, where he addressed residents and urged them to rally behind UDA candidate Leonard Muriuki Wamuthende Leo. He said the government wanted a leader who would defend ongoing development projects and ensure the region did not fall back into years of neglect. According to the DP, Mbeere North had suffered marginalisation for a long time, and the current administration was working to reverse that trend.

He highlighted progress on major projects, including the tarmacking of the Siakago–Kanyuambora Road, expansion of electricity, improvement of markets, and new water initiatives. Kindiki insisted that only an MP aligned with the government could safeguard these gains and ensure that ministries continue funding the constituency’s development needs.

Kindiki also stated that President William Ruto and the entire Kenya Kwanza team had agreed to support Leo fully until the end of the campaigns. He described the candidate as disciplined, experienced, and capable of pushing government agencies to deliver on their promises.

While addressing the crowd, the DP took a swipe at the opposition, accusing its leaders of lacking concrete solutions for residents. He said their approach focused on insults rather than real plans for the constituency. Kindiki vowed that UDA would match the opposition’s aggressive tactics with an even stronger ground mobilisation strategy. He promised more visits and a vigorous door-to-door campaign to secure victory.

Kindiki urged residents to back a candidate who would guarantee continuity, development, and stability, adding that the ruling coalition was determined to show its political strength in the region.
