Facebook has launched FB monetization in Kenya, which will see content creators earn money by producing ORIGINAL videos and building their community, and through Facebook ads.
Eligibility criteria for this will surround one being 18 years of age, have a minimum of 5,000 followers and meet the laid out requirements.
Earning will be through in-stream ads and Facebook Ads on reels.
In-Stream Ads can appear before, during, or after on-demand videos, whether it’s pre-recorded content or recordings of previous live streams.
Starting today, eligible creators in Kenya can earn money from their video and reels content, with support in over 30 languages globally, including Swahili.
I am optimistic that the government will enhance this area by reducing taxes on content creation, import duties on recording tools (cameras, et al), to help fellow Facebookers earn a living, create employment and above all, market Kenyan content to the rest of the World.
