Detectives in Kasarani are investigating the brutal killing of 43-year-old Florence Nyagah, whose body was discovered inside her apartment in the Roysambu area of Nairobi. Police say the incident is believed to have occurred on February 28, with investigations now focused on tracing a key suspect.
According to authorities, Nyagah’s body was found lying on the floor of her second-floor house at Faiths Apartments along Lumumba Drive. Officers who visited the scene reported that she had suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and forehead. A knife without a handle was recovered from beneath a kitchen table and is suspected to be the weapon used in the attack.
Investigators revealed that the deceased had reportedly been in the company of a man believed to be her partner on the night before her death. Police have since identified the individual as Daniel Macharia Mburu, who is reported to be a police officer. By Monday, March 2, he remained at large, with detectives actively pursuing leads to locate and arrest him.
The grim discovery was made by Nyagah’s daughter after her mother failed to respond to several phone calls. Concerned by the unusual silence, she visited the residence on March 1, where she found her mother unresponsive and raised the alarm.
Nyagah worked as a hairdresser at Freddyz Salon located at Platinum Plaza in Nairobi. Police officers from Kasarani Police Station processed the scene before the body was moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
