Kalonzo to Lead Akamba and Agikuyu Delegations to Raila’s Opoda Farm

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced that he will be at the helm of both the Ukambani and Mt Kenya delegations heading to Opoda Farm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, to honor the family and pay his respects to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

While addressing attendees at Ngema Fest in Murang’a, where former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was also present on Wednesday, November 1, 2025, he stated that he would be leading a delegation to Opoda Farm, encouraging the people of Murang’a and the entire Mount Kenya region to join him on this visit to the farm.

Regarding Gachagua’s presence, who has remained quiet since Raila’s passing and has yet to visit the family, which has drawn some reactions, he did not clarify whether he would accompany Kalonzo or not.

According to Kalonzo, President William Ruto cannot claim to be grieving the late Odinga more than he or anyone else, which is why he is going back to Opoda Farm. “Those of you who can, let’s visit Opoda Farm on Thursday in a unique way. William Ruto and similar individuals cannot possibly pretend to be in mourning for Raila Amollo Odinga. “Let’s all go to Bondo if you believe you have a genuine inheritance in the 2010 constitution,” Kalonzo declared.

Additionally, leaders are storming Opoda Farm to pay their final respects at Raila’s grave at Kang’o ka Jaramogi and to console Raila’s widow, Ida Odinga. On October 20, 2025, the day after Raila’s burial on October 19, former President Uhuru Kenyatta was the first person to visit the house. Gachagua’s allies visit This also follows the visit to Siaya Senator and newly appointed Orange by Nyandarua Senator John Methu and his Kiambu counterpart Karungo Thang’wa.

Another group of ODM leaders cautioned Gachagua not to visit Opoda Farm following comments made by Mutahi Kahiga, in which he seemed to be rejoicing over the death. Nevertheless, the family of the late prime minister, headed by Raila Junior, rejected their warnings, stating that everyone is invited to Opoda Farm to grieve alongside the family.
