
Tragic news: James Handy, the beloved actor known for his roles in “Jumanji” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” has sadly passed away at 81. Authorities found him unconscious in his Tarzana, California home with multiple stab wounds.
Michael Gledhill, 44, the son of Handy’s girlfriend, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He approached officers and identified himself as the suspect following a 911 call that raised concerns.
Handy, originally from New York, built an impressive career over six decades, featuring in numerous films and TV shows like “NYPD Blue,” “Law & Order,” and “The West Wing.” His latest appearance was in 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” where he played a bartender alongside Jennifer Connelly’s character.
The LAPD confirmed that this incident appears isolated, assuring the public there’s no ongoing threat. Gledhill is currently in custody at Van Nuys Jail, facing a murder charge with bail set at $2 million.
