Education CS releases 2022 KCSE examinations results

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on Friday 20th January 2023 released the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results and noted a marked improvement from last year.

Speaking at Mitihani House in Nairobi, Machogu noted that candidates who are not within close proximity to their respective examination centres can access the results via SMS services.

The CS said the government has developed a system for articulation, classification, registration, accreditation and quality assurance of national qualifications and added that government has committed to ensuring that credibility and authenticity of qualifications and certificates from learning institutions.

He directed the Kenya National Qualifications Authority to ensure that the National Qualifications Framework is implemented to enhance the quality, relevance and authenticity of qualifications, not just locally but globally to promote the portability of Kenya’s qualifications and mobility of labour.

Machogu further said all candidates who sat the 2022 KCSE exam have ready avenues to progress to other levels of education as the government seeks to leave no learner behind. “All these candidates have a destiny and the government is determined to clear the path for them,” Said the CS.

1,146 candidates out of the candidates who sat 2022 KCSE exams scored A plain; Education ministry says 173,345 got a minimum University entry grade. A total of 881,416 candidates sat for the 2022 KCSE exams. Out of these 405,962 were male while 420,845 were female.
