Museveni’s “disturbed” son again says he will capture Nairobi

In what now sounds like a joke gone too far or a case of a mentally disturbed man, President Yoweri Museveni’s son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has once again claimed on his twitter handle that he will capture Nairobi and dared his father to sack him.

In what is now turning to be a diplomatic embarrassment between the two friendly neighbours, the President’s son has posted “I will capture Nairobi for sure! That’s my hometown. If ANY Kenyan tries to prevent me. He’ll be soup! We will drink him for dinner. My father can sack me again if he wants.”

Earlier in the day Muhoozi posted “I am coming to visit the grave of my grand father, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. I hope the Kenyan security will allow me in the country and not arrest me.”

In October last year, the general caused a diplomatic situation and an online storm after claiming that he would lead the army to take over Nairobi. The crazy tweets prompted Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua to raise the issue with the Ugandan Ambassador to Kenya. “Yes, we took it seriously. I met with the ambassador to get a clarification on what was going on and he assured me that it was not the government position. Unless otherwise stated, that was a personal thing and not the position of the government,” said Dr Mutua.

Then the general posted on his handle that it would take him and his army only two weeks to take over Nairobi after which he would bring his wife to tour their new district. “It wouldn’t take us, my army and me, two weeks to capture Nairobi,” General Muhoozi tweeted. “After our army captures Nairobi, where should I live? Westlands? Riverside?” “To all compatriots, fellow countrymen and women, Uganda and Kenya: I say we must all conquer our fears. These colonial borders must fall!” he added.
