Deputy President William Ruto seeks Uhuru’s forgiveness

Deputy President William has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive him for his shortcomings as the country’s Deputy President for the last 10 years.

The Deputy President also used the occasion to asked Kenyans to forgive him for his failures as the country’s second in command which made it difficult for the Jubilee administration to deliver on their promise to Kenyans.

The deputy president was speaking on Thursday May 26, during a National Prayer Breakfast meeting at the Safari Park Hotel. “I also know that serving as the Deputy President, I may have fallen short of expectations of my boss His Excellency the President my good friend, I ask for your forgiveness,” said Ruto.

The Deputy President also used the occasion to forgive the many people who hurt him saying that he wants Kenyans to go into the August 9, 2022 elections free of the debt of hurt and forgiveness.

The disquiet between the President and his deputy played out at the event when the two contrary to expectations sat at two different tables. Ruto shared a table with the two speakers of the National Assembly and Senate Ken Lusaka and Justin Muturi who both belong to his Kenya Kwanza Alliance while the president sat with Chief Justice Martha Koome and Attorney General Paul Kihara.

Ruto fell out with the president after the latter’s handshake with former prime Minister Raila Odinga due to several reasons including the former’s decision to start early campaigns.
