CS Owalo hosts the Nyanza MPs who visited Statehouse

ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo today hosted all the 9 Members of parliament from Nyanza who have been under fire from their party leader Raila Odinga for visiting Statehouse last week.

The CS posted on his social media “Mid-morning today, accompanied by ICT P.S., Broadcasting and Communication, P.S. we hosted MPs from Nyanza and Nairobi, to discuss partnership with them on our digital economy agenda. Key in the discussions was Internet connectivity; digital village hubs and Studio-Mashinani.”

The CS then took all the embattled legislators for another development meeting with the CS for Roads and Infrastructure Kipchumba Murkomen and tweeted “We have had a very fruitful meeting, this afternoon, with the CS for Roads and Infrastructure, Kipchumba Murkomen, and MPS from Nyanza. The deliberations centred on roads and Infrastructure projects within the Lake Region, with the proposed Lake Victoria Ring Road as the flagship”.

Owalo began his day with a working session with professionals and political leaders from Nyanza for what he called the implementation of development programmes as enshrined in The President’s Bottom Up Economic Development Transformation Agenda. He was accompanied by Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.

Langata MP Phelix Odiwuor Jalango who is among the MPS declared that he would not apologize for meeting President Ruto and has received overwhelming public support encouragement from Kenyans who have encouraged him to ignore critics and continue serving the people of Langata.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has been criticized for turning a blind eye when governors meet President Ruto and only picking on elected members of parliament. In an interview with Ramogi TV, Raila said governors are allowed to meet President Ruto although he doesn’t recognize him as president.
